| Thallus scurfy, leprose, pale green to greyish green, thin, rather patchy, not delimited; photobiont cells ±globose, 12–20 µm diam. Apothecia matt, scattered, solitary, superficial or slightly embedded in the substratum, 0.20–0.35 mm diam., to c. 0.25 mm tall; disc uneven, minutely roughened, plane at first, soon becoming strongly convex, finally eroding and leaving only the excavate black dish-like excipulum; margin not distinct. Excipulum well developed, cupular, opaque black-brown, pigment unchanged in KOH and HNO3, 60–80 µm thick beneath the hymenium, thinner and becoming excluded laterally. Hypothecium 70–90 µm thick, pale yellow-brown to hyaline. Hymenium 80–100 µm thick, diffuse yellow-brown in the upper part, elsewhere hyaline. Paraphyses 0.5–1.0 µm thick. Asci narrowly cylindrical, 80–100 × 14–20 µm. Ascospores globose or almost so, frequently deformed and angular in the ascus, 8–12 × 7–11 µm, typically with a large central vacuole; wall 0.5–1.0 µm thick. Pycnidia not seen. |  |

| Known only from the type locality in northern Tas.; collected on relatively freshly disturbed, unconsolidated, basaltic soil along a roadside at the boundary of open eucalypt forest and improved pasture at an altitude of 70 m. | ||
